Logo design for innovative art and design exhibition

Designing the URBNLUX logo was an exercise in reconciliation and restraint. It was critical that we strike the right balance between urbane sophistication and “street cred.” What’s more, the final mark needed to connote the ironic and unexpected nature of the art and design exhibit: two disparate worlds — high design and graffiti art — coming together to create something altogether new. And, like every other exhibition in the show, the logo design had to represent a collaboration with graffiti artist Man One. To this end, we brought Portland-based veteran creative director Brian Rupp together with Man One to create the final design.
