Paradise Lost Canoe Expedition

Logo design for a modern day wilderness adventure

When adventurer, Explorers Club member and author David Scott needed to brand his most recent canoe expedition to northern Canada, we created a logo to brand his trip, gear and promotional materials. The design of the mark was informed by the mission of Mr. Scott’s trip and final destination — the polar bear capital of the world, Churchill, Manitoba on Hudson Bay.

The northern Manitoba wilderness area through which David Scott was canoeing on the Little Beaver and Churchill Rivers, had recently been ravaged by forest fires, burning millions of acres and destroying a log cabin Mr. Scott built in 1991 and lived. The memoir of his cabin adventure titled Paradise Creek was published in 1994.  This year, he canoed the wilderness area once again to determine whether or not rebuilding the cabin might be possible.
